What is Minutes?

Minutes is a multilingual news aggregator. We bring together news and video from outlets around the world, present the key information as concise summaries in a language you know, and link every item to its original.

Do I need to register or log in? Is it paid?

Browsing Minutes is currently free, with no registration or login required. In the future we’ll add accounts to support value-added services such as personalization and saved-item sync, which will require signing in.

Which media sources do you carry?

We currently carry 42 media sources across 12 countries and regions — wire services, major outlets, public broadcasters and news video. You can filter freely by source and category to see only the outlets you care about.

How do you present different viewpoints?

On the same event we place different outlets’ reports side by side, without merging across sources and without altering each outlet’s meaning or emphasis. We don’t equate any single outlet with a country or region, and we don’t decide for you which account is the one right answer — we organize the information; the judgement is yours.

Which languages are supported?

Minutes offers a 简体中文 / 繁體中文 / 日本語 / English interface. You can also use the Minutes desktop extension to translate the original page in one click and read first-hand reporting in your language.

How is my privacy handled?

Browsing Minutes needs no registration or login, and we don’t ask for your personal information; you choose what to follow yourself — there is no algorithmic recommendation feed. The one exception is the beta extension download, which needs an email address to issue a slot — see the privacy policy for what it is used for and how long it is kept.
