Privacy Policy

1. When you browse the site

We do not create an account for you and do not record what you read.

Preferences — theme, interface language, body text size, filter selections — are stored in your own browser’s local storage and are never sent to our servers. Clearing your browser data clears them.

As with any website, requests pass through Cloudflare’s network infrastructure, which handles transport-level logs under its own policy.

2. When you request the beta extension (the only place we take personal information)

When you enter an address on the beta page we store: the address you typed, whether you ticked “send me beta notices”, and the times of the request and the confirmation.

We also store irreversible hashes of your address and of the IP the request came from. The hashes do two things: make sure one address cannot take more than one slot, and limit repeated requests over a short period. The raw IP is not stored.

This is used for three things only: sending you the confirmation email; contacting you during the beta about new versions and when it ends (part of running the beta itself); and stopping slots being taken repeatedly or abused. Only if you tick the box do we keep sending you product updates after the beta ends. Nothing else, and never for advertising.

3. How long we keep it

If you did not tick that box: your address is kept until the beta ends, and cleared in one pass at that point.

If you did tick the box to keep hearing from us after the beta: we keep your address until you unsubscribe. After that, the line above applies.

After deletion we keep the irreversible hash and the fact that a slot was issued, for audit and to prevent a second claim. Neither can be turned back into your address.

Either way, you can ask us to unsubscribe you or delete your address at any time.

4. What we do not do

We do not sell, rent, or trade your email address.

We do not use it for advertising, and we send no marketing unrelated to the beta.

We do not share it with third parties beyond the infrastructure needed to deliver the mail (Cloudflare).

5. The extension and the translation relay

Reader mode runs entirely in your browser; article text does not pass through our servers.

When you use translation, the text is relayed through us to a model provider and the result is returned to you. We do not store the translated text — only usage counts (characters and tokens) for quota and cost accounting.

A beta slot is bound to one device and has usage limits and an expiry. None of those records include which pages you visited.

6. Your rights

Write to us to ask what we hold for your address, to stop receiving notices (keeping your slot), or to have your address deleted entirely.

Unsubscribing and deletion are separate — you can ask for either on its own. We will act within a reasonable time.

7. Changes to this policy

If we change what we collect or what we use it for, we will update this page and the “last updated” date above.
