PoliticsFormer Hong Kong Democratic Party chair faces deportation after UK entry refusal

Former Democratic Party chair Huwai Wai was detained by UK border officials for nearly 10 hours after arriving at London Heathrow following his release from prison in Hong Kong. He told BBC Chinese that he had not applied for asylum, while confirming that British authorities refused him entry and granted only seven days of immigration bail. He must report to airport border control when that period ends and face deportation. Wai also recalled losing both parents while imprisoned and reuniting with his wife and children in Britain.
