CulturePoland’s modernist port city Gdynia gains UNESCO World Heritage status

The center of Gdynia, Poland’s modernist Baltic port city, has been added to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The district was built almost from scratch during the two decades between the First and Second World Wars. The designation comes as Gdynia marks its centenary year, giving the city’s anniversary celebrations an added cultural milestone.
