French football icon Zinedine Zidane has been tasked with coaching France as of July 28. His assignment is to deliver the 2030 World Cup to the country, echoing his own triumph as a player in 1998. Zidane will take over from Deschamps, whose tenure started in 2012. Deschamps left earlier this month after France finished fourth at the World Cup.
