WorldFirefighters race to extinguish spotfires before temperatures rise

Firefighters in France’s Gironde region are working around the clock to contain numerous spotfires left by the devastation in the country’s southwest. Many of the fires have reignited, adding urgency to the effort. Crews are trying to get them under control before higher temperatures and further heatwave conditions are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
