A British couple was found badly burned and semi-conscious in a ravine in Spain’s Almería province as deadly wildfires spread through the region. Local media said the pair were holidaying there and were believed to have been hiking when the fire caught them. Guardia Civil officers searched the area for survivors before a two-hour rescue operation took the couple by air to hospital. The fires have killed 12 people and scorched more than 6,000 hectares. At least 23 people remain missing.
