Noriyuki Kamezawa, head of Kansai Clean Service, has worked at more than 100,000 sites involving special cleaning and the sorting of belongings left behind. He entered the field after handling his own grandmother’s possessions and has continued for 19 years. Through that work, he has come to see social isolation and problems hidden in everyday life from a different perspective. Isolation and solitary deaths, he says, can happen to anyone, not only to people viewed as especially vulnerable.
