WorldZaghari-Ratcliffe condemns Iran’s ‘cruel’ rearrest of wildlife activist couple

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe has condemned Iran’s rearrest of environmental activists Houman Jokar and Sepideh Kashani as “unimaginably cruel and alarming.” She previously shared prison time at Evin with one of them. The couple, who worked to protect Asiatic cheetahs, were arrested by Iran’s ministry of intelligence at their home on 1 July. Authorities have given no reason for the arrests, and the pair’s whereabouts remain unknown.
