The small Victorian town of Donald is grieving after 13-year-old Layla Jeffery was found dead. Residents had shared worried messages and police appeals for information during the week after she failed to return home in the early hours of 4 July. People in the community feared that something had happened to the missing girl. Her death has now left the town, around 280km from Melbourne, struggling to cope with the alleged murder.
