The Moscow City Court has sentenced Georgy Pirogov, a 37-year-old man from the Moscow region, to 23 years in a maximum-security penal colony. The court also ordered him to pay a fine of 800,000 rubles. Independent Russian outlet Mediazona reported the ruling, citing a person familiar with it. Pirogov fled Russia after the invasion of Ukraine, later disappeared while working in Uzbekistan, and subsequently resurfaced in a Moscow jail.
