With Sweden’s general election approaching, a survey finds that twice as many men as women support the far-right Sweden Democrats. The Social Democrats, led by Sweden’s first female prime minister, Magdalena Andersson, have promised smaller school classes, more housing and free dental care for young people. The Sweden Democrats, led by Jimmie Åkesson, have neo-Nazi roots and promise lower taxes, better public safety and hate-crime treatment for “anti-Swedishness”. The two parties lead the polls and are expected to win more than half the vote between them.
