TechJR East unveils new dedicated inspection train ‘SOAR,’ planned for introduction by fiscal 2029
JR East has announced the design of a new dedicated vehicle for inspecting Shinkansen rails and other infrastructure. The vehicle is nicknamed “SOAR,” pronounced “Soa.” It is planned to replace the current “East-i” inspection vehicle. Introduction is scheduled to take place during fiscal 2029.
