PoliticsEU and UK sign Gibraltar status treaty to ease border checks

The European Union and the United Kingdom signed an agreement on Gibraltar’s status on Tuesday. The deal ends border checks between Gibraltar and Spain, six years after Britain left the bloc. Gibraltar residents can now enter Spain using residence cards. Spanish citizens can cross using a government-issued identity card. The arrangement is intended to make movement between Gibraltar and Spain easier.
