WorldSouth Ossetia’s leader heaps praise on Russian peacekeeping mission
The leader of South Ossetia has strongly praised the Russian peacekeeping mission in the republic. A trilateral peacekeeping force was deployed there on July 14, 1992. The deployment brought an end to a conflict that had been smoldering since 1989. The mission is presented as having played a decisive role in ending that prolonged confrontation.
