SpaceXAI’s Grok Build AI coding tool was found to be uploading users’ complete codebases to Google Cloud. Findings published by Cereblab on Monday said the Grok Build CLI packaged and sent entire code repositories. The material reportedly included files that the tool had been instructed not to open. After the issue was reported, the company disabled the tool. The disclosure raises concerns about how the coding product handled users’ source code and cloud transfers.
