Singapore’s High Court has ordered Bloomberg News and reporter Low De Wei to pay S$460,000 in damages after ruling that an article defamed two government ministers. The ministers are each to receive S$230,000, including general and aggravated damages. Bloomberg editor-in-chief John Micklethwait stands by the reporting. He said the ministers who brought the case had placed an extremely strained meaning on what he described as a solid story.
