EconomyChina’s second-quarter growth weakest since the Covid-19 era
Official figures released Wednesday show China’s GDP expanded 4.3% in the second quarter from a year earlier. That was the country’s weakest quarterly growth since late 2022, when the economy was still feeling the effects of the Covid pandemic. Weak consumer demand, even as exports surged, helps account for the slowdown. The edition also reports relief among Gibraltar’s business community after the physical border between the British overseas territory and Spain was removed.
