ScienceGreater gliders glide less far than thought, but still look magical, experts say

Australian researchers have challenged long-held assumptions about the aerial abilities of greater gliders. The first study to measure the largest gliding marsupial’s performance found that the animals travel an average of 19 metres. That is far short of the 100 metres proposed by an 85-year-old study. Scientists say watching the fluffy animals in action remains breathtaking, despite the revised estimate.
