Apricots grown in Armenia’s Ararat valley have become entangled in a geopolitical dispute involving Russia and the West. The Kremlin, angered by Yerevan’s shift away from Moscow, introduced bans and restrictions on imports of numerous Armenian goods. The measures cover products including fruit, vegetables and flowers. They were imposed ahead of Armenia’s parliamentary elections last month.
