WorldMexico asks US state attorneys general to investigate immigrant ICE deaths
Mexico has formally asked attorneys general in US states to pursue criminal investigations into immigrants who died in Immigration and Customs Enforcement custody or during agency raids. The request came after Mexican immigrant Lorenzo Salgado Araujo was shot and killed by an ICE agent in Houston. The Mexican government said 17 Mexican immigrants have died during immigration enforcement since the start of Donald Trump’s second term. Fourteen deaths occurred in ICE custody, while three happened during agency operations.
