PoliticsFCC plans to clear the way for more media consolidation

The Federal Communications Commission is set to vote next month on whether one company may own broadcast stations reaching more than 39 percent of US television households. Republican Chair Brendan Carr announced the August 6 vote in a Wednesday Breitbart opinion piece. The proposal would end the national ownership cap, a rule designed to prevent a single company from controlling broadcast stations serving too much of the American TV market. The vote could open the door to further consolidation across the US media industry.
