WorldFormer Italian motorways boss sentenced to 12 years over Genoa bridge tragedy

Giovanni Castellucci, the former chief executive of Italy’s motorway operator Autostrade per l’Italia, has been sentenced to 12 years in prison over the 2018 collapse of Genoa’s Morandi Bridge. The court imposed the longest sentence in the case. Thirty-two people were convicted in total over the disaster, which killed 43 people. The verdict was delivered on Thursday in a quiet courtroom in Genoa.
