HealthAt-home STI test pulled from Australian shelves after failing to detect infections

Australia’s only approved home test for chlamydia and gonorrhoea has been removed from sale after failing to identify infections in an unspecified number of patients. The Therapeutic Goods Administration reviewed Touch Biotechnology’s self-testing kit and said the device was not reliable. It also found a high risk that users could receive false-negative results. The company has been given a six-month suspension.
