HealthRoad deaths have declined globally since 1990 except in poorer countries, study finds
New estimates indicate that road deaths have fallen both in the United States and worldwide. A study published Monday in Lancet Public Health found that global road injuries and deaths each dropped by more than 30% between 1990 and 2023. The decline was not shared by poorer countries. The findings point to uneven progress in reducing road-related harm around the world.
