EconomyRussia’s State Duma extends fuel price dampener to diesel imports
Russia’s State Duma has passed a law in its second and third readings extending the fuel price dampener mechanism to diesel imports. Under the measure, oil companies will receive compensation from the federal budget for the difference between export prices and domestic market prices. A similar mechanism had previously been adopted for gasoline imports. The subsidy is intended to help importers keep diesel prices in check.
