Shibata in Niigata Prefecture issued an evacuation order to 1,890 households, covering 4,543 people. The order applies to the Sugaya, Kaji and Kajikawa districts along the mountains. The city said heavy rain had increased the risk of landslides. It was issued at 5:35 p.m. and concerns the three districts collectively.
