ScienceChina begins building commercial space debris monitoring network

China has started deploying the Gande Constellation, its first commercial satellite network dedicated to monitoring space debris. The 120-satellite system is designed for continuous detection across all orbits and is planned for completion before 2030. Its first satellite uses an AI-assisted computer for surveillance, emergency response and rapid tracking.
