World2 Skelia soldiers charged with torturing comrades as abuse investigation widens

Ukraine’s State Bureau of Investigation charged two medical-unit soldiers from the 425th Separate Assault Regiment, known as Skelia, over the alleged torture and unlawful detention of two comrades. The case followed a report alleging widespread abuse and at least 26 noncombat deaths among recruits. Both suspects were detained and face up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
