HealthUN report finds healthy diets unaffordable for one in three people worldwide
A new report from five UN agencies says one in three people worldwide cannot afford a healthy diet. It estimates that 2.69 billion people lack access to a varied range of foods meeting their energy and nutrient needs. Global hunger fell for a third consecutive year in 2025, but the report warns that reaching the zero-hunger goal by 2030 will require “immense” effort. Experts are urging action to reduce the cost of fruit, vegetables and dairy products.
