China’s exports of intellectual-property royalties reached 45.5 billion yuan in the first five months of 2026, up 64.9% year on year, a China National Intellectual Property Administration official said. Deputy head Rui Wenbiao said the rise reflects Chinese companies’ use of IP to build international competitiveness. By the end of June, China had 2.36 million high-value invention patents.
