The Kyushu Shinkansen had suspended service between Chikugo-Funagoya and Kagoshima-Chuo after an earthquake registering seismic intensity 7 in Kumamoto Prefecture. Following inspections of the tracks and other facilities, service resumed between Hakata and Kumamoto.
