A passenger bus travelling from Setif to Algiers left the road in El Karma, about 50km from the capital, and fell into a deep ravine, killing at least 27 people and injuring 39, Algeria’s health minister said. Rescue teams continued evacuating victims, while President Abdelmadjid Tebboune declared three days of national mourning and promised an uncompromising crackdown after the investigation.
