Wushu is attracting more young practitioners in Africa. Kenya hosted its first national Wushu competition in Nairobi, where athletes described the martial art as both a competitive sport and a way to develop discipline, self-control and confidence. Organizers also see it as a channel for cultural exchange and closer ties between Kenya and China.
