Researchers identified traces of a deliberately brewed cereal-based alcoholic drink, dating back about 2,300 years, inside a sealed garlic-shaped bronze flask excavated at the Shanjiabao cemetery in Guyuan, Ningxia. The sample is described as the best-preserved publicly reported alcoholic specimen from the Warring States period and offers evidence of Qin-era fermentation techniques.
