Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi visited earthquake-hit areas of Kumamoto Prefecture on the 3rd and spoke with evacuees at a shelter. She said the government would promote “secondary evacuation” using hotels and inns. The government also plans to designate the quake a severe disaster and approved use of more than 20 billion yen in reserve funds.
