EconomyVietnam records trade deficit for eighth straight month
Vietnam posted a wider $3.59 billion trade deficit in July, marking its eighth consecutive monthly shortfall. Exports rose 25% year on year to $53.1 billion, but imports climbed 41.4%. The year-to-date deficit reached $20.5 billion, already exceeding the country’s 2008 annual record, with higher fuel costs contributing to the import bill.
