Oleksii Yukov, who led Ukraine’s volunteer body recovery group Platsdarm, was killed on Aug. 5, his wife said. He was reportedly fatally wounded while exhuming bodies near the front line. Yukov had continued dangerous recovery missions in eastern Ukraine and said days earlier that his team had repatriated more than 10,000 bodies.
