EconomyGas injection into European underground storage hits three-year low in early August
TASS calculations based on Gas Infrastructure Europe data show that EU countries’ net gas injection into underground storage was at a three-year low in early August 2026. Facilities are 57.87% full, versus 70% a year earlier, holding about 63.3 bcm—13.6 bcm below last year’s level. Since April, only 48% of the volume needed for winter has been injected.
