The number of foreign passengers arriving in Hainan in January-June rose about one third year-on-year. Traffic through Sanya’s Phoenix International Airport increased 33% to 630,000, while Haikou’s Meilan Airport grew by more than 29% to about 875,000. Expanded routes and new visa-free rules, including for Russia, helped drive the increase.
