Alibaba plans to seek payment from major users of the next version of its Qwen open-source artificial intelligence model, two people familiar with the company’s plans said. The proposed arrangement would ask those users to share part of the revenue they generate from the highly anticipated offering. The plan would give Alibaba a revenue stake in commercial use of the model.
