ScienceChina unveils refined lunar map to support future moon exploration

A Chinese research team has completed an updated 1:5-million-scale geologic map of the entire moon. Drawing on findings from Chang’e-5 and Chang’e-6 samples, it recalibrates ancient lunar periods, documents volcanic activity on the far side and shows KREEP rocks are more continuous and abundant in Oceanus Procellarum than previously estimated.
