On July 31, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security added 43 Chinese companies to its entity list under the so-called Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act. Josef Gregory Mahoney of East China Normal University said labeling even sunflower seeds and dumplings as a “threat” exposes the absurdity of the move.
