WorldPower goes dark across Russian resort city under drone warning
Residents of Gelendzhik reported a citywide outage on August 10 while a warning of possible Ukrainian drone attacks remained in effect. Nearby villages and Novorossiysk also lost power, while more than 70 traffic lights failed in Krasnodar. Officials attributed the outage to an automated load-shedding system and said electricity should return within two hours. The outage came a week after a drone crashed on a beach near Gelendzhik, killing seven people, including four children.
