Russia’s theater community fractured after 2022 as many artists emigrated and institutions closed under official pressure. Founded by the Khronotop company and relocated to Yerevan, Chronofest has become a rare meeting place where émigré and Russia-based artists, along with colleagues from countries at war, can share their work. Its third edition ran from May 28 to June 7.
