The U.S. government has sold two sanctioned oil tankers seized in January 2026. Dubai-based ship recycler Global Marketing Systems bought Era and Lileo in July, and both will be dismantled in India. Era was previously known as Marinera and Bella 1; Washington said Bella 1 carried sanctioned oil from Venezuela and Iran and switched to a Russian flag during the pursuit that led to its seizure.
