The World Health Organization has begun the first clinical trial examining whether an antiviral can prevent infection after exposure to the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola. The study is taking place in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The outbreak continues to move faster than response efforts. It has also spread beyond transmission chains that had previously been identified.
