Nepalese mountaineer Nirmal Purja has been confirmed dead after an avalanche hit his expedition on Pakistan’s Broad Peak, where he was leading 10 climbers. His team confirmed the death, while three bodies have been recovered. Purja became known through his record climb of the world’s 14 highest mountains and the Netflix documentary 14 Peaks.
