Spain says it will check travelers arriving from Italy through September 7 unless Rome drops its measures against people arriving from Spain. Italy rejects what it calls Madrid’s “ultimatums or impositions” and says it will keep suspending Schengen rules for non-EU nationals from Spain until at least August 15, after the Ceuta border rush triggered the dispute.
