A 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia, with its epicentre in Chocó, collapsing or badly damaging buildings in cities including Cali and Pereira. The president said 111 people had died, 87 were injured and 61 buildings had collapsed, while declaring a national state of emergency and prioritising rescues from the rubble.
